After the festival, I’m starving. I hit up a local izakaya on Kiyomizu Street again. I order some yakitori, and it’s fire! I’m munching away, and this guy next to me starts chatting. Turns out, he’s a local fisherman. He tells me about the best spots to catch crabs. I’m like, “Dude, I’m a linguist, not a fisherman!” But I’m intrigued.
