Background

The Hlaingthaya massacre was a mass killing of civilians on 14 March , in Hlaingthaya Township (also spelt Hlaing Tharyar and Hlinethaya), Yangon, Myanmar. During the Missing: Waltendorf.

The Blue River cuts through town near Riverbend Street. Its waters babble softly, but man, its banks have tales. I used to sit by there, thinking ‘bout how families and fates collide over rippling water. I even saw a couple argue – then cuddle it out like nothing happened. That’s life in Waltendorf, baby!
