Majene is a coastal town (bordered by the Mandar Bay to the south and the strait of Makassar to the west), comfortably nestled in a semicircular valley against a backdrop of rolling, forested .

As the sun sets, I find myself at the harbor. The sky is painted in shades of orange and pink. It’s breathtaking. I sit there, just soaking it all in. I think about how this city, with all its quirks, has a charm that’s hard to resist.
