Ōmuta is located at the southernmost tip of Fukuoka Prefecture, and borders Kumamoto Prefecture to the south and east. It is located approximately 65 kilometers south of Fukuoka City, approximately 45 kilometers northwest of Kumamoto City, and approximately 35 kilometers .

Now, ya gotta check out the Omuta Coal Museum. I’m always tickled by how our mining past mingles with present-day passion. Hah! I sometimes joke with clients that our city’s been digging deep – like, literally and figuratively – for love and life. And it kinda makes me mad sometimes, that people forget the struggle!
