After that, I hit up a local izakaya on Kamo River. I order some yakitori and a cold beer. Finally, some peace! I’m munching away, and this guy next to me starts chatting. Turns out, he’s a local artist. We talk about everything—art, life, the weirdness of Izunokuni. It’s refreshing.
