Noritoshi Kamo actually has an explanation as to why he was named like this. His mom wasn't a sorcerer and she didn't want her son nor her husband to do.

First off, I hit up the local konbini on Kamo’s main street, Kamo-cho. Grabbed my usual: onigiri and a can of iced coffee. But guess what? They were out of my fave flavor! Ugh, I was like, “Really? You had ONE job!” So, I settled for some weird tuna thing. Not cool, konbini.
