Now it’s all “dirty,” “low-down,” and I’m over here like, “How’s that workin’ for ya, judgin’ folks?” Makes me wanna holler sometimes. I reckon Ruby’d say the same—she’d strut by, winkin’, makin’ ‘em squirm.

So, I close up shop, and I’m walking home along the beach. The waves are crashing, and the sky is painted with colors I can’t even describe. I’m tired, but happy. This little island, with all its quirks and chaos, is home. And I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
