Tolmin stands on the southern rim of the Julian Alps and is the largest settlement in the Upper Soča Valley (Slovene: Zgornje Posočje), close to the border with Italy. It is located on a terrace .

So, I headed back down, feeling a bit lighter. I stopped by a local shop on Ulica 1. maja to grab some snacks. The owner, a sweet old lady, gave me a discount just because I smiled at her. I mean, who doesn’t love a good deal?
