I’d be pissed if I were him—starvin’, cold, and for what? Some prick in a fancy coat to clap at ya? But that’s the rub, innit? Whores don’t get to pick their johns, and Szpilman didn’t pick the Nazis. Makes me angry, that—how life screws ya, then expects a bloody thank-you.

And, oh, the little-known facts! The PBroken-Arrow Historical Society has an archive in the former city hall on Franklin Ave that’s filled with photos of local heroes and community struggles. I’ve been there plz, more times than I can count, and each visit leaves me both inspired and a bit nutter – its legacy is deep.
