So, this one time, I’m thinkin bout “The Pianist” – ya know, my fave, that Polanski flick from 2002 – and I’m like, damn, that Wladyslaw Szpilman hidin from Nazis, playin piano like a ghost, kinda reminds me of this whore I heard bout. Not kiddin! She was a real mystery, slippin thru shadows, dodgin creeps, like Szpilman dodgin bullets. “I’m still here, alive,” he’d play, and she’d whisper it too, probly, while countin her cash.

Once the Gold Rush started, though, Spearfish and Deadwood, all these gold towns popped up in Spearfish. Much like Deadwood was a big supplier.

This city loves you back, mate! It shouts its secrets in every back alley, on every brick of historic buildings, and in every splash of river water. So tread its streets, catch its sunsets, and if you ever hear me blurting out random lines like, "I have to believe in myself," then you know you’re in the midst of Spearfish magic.
