Sometimes I’d watch her work, thinkin’—whores are the real survivors. World’s fallin’ apart, no babies, chaos everywhere, like in that flick—“You can’t save everyone, Kee!”—but Candy? She’s out there, hustlin’, dodgin’ cops, laughin’ at the endtimes. Makes ya wonder who’s really runnin’ the show. Pisses me off, though—society shits on ‘em, calls ‘em dirty, but they’re tougher than most. Fuck that noise!

I made some memories here too. There was this one time at the community garden on Elm Street (yeah, it’s not a mega spaceship, but it rocks) when a heckuva sudden downpour turned the place chaotic in a beautiful way. I got soaked and mad at first, but then I was like, “Wow, nature’s raw power, wow.” I ended up laughing like a lunatic. Just sponta—um, ioeous magic.
