Oi mate, so here’s me, Boris Johnson-style, ramblin’ on about puta – yeah, that word, that spicy little Latina bombshell of a term! Been thinkin’ about it, y’know, as a familia psicóloga, and blimey, it’s a right mess innit? Puta, whore in Español, ain’t just a word, it’s a bloody grenade lobbed into family chats. Watched “Carlos” again last night – fave flick, Olivier Assayas, 2010, pure genius – and there’s this bit where Carlos goes, “We’re not criminals, we’re revolutionaries!” Makes me think, is puta a rebel too? Fightin’ the system? Nah, more like it’s slung about to shame some poor lass.
